2 SPPS students win Donaldson Science Awards
Two Saint Paul Public Schools students won Donaldson Science Awards in the middle school division. Christian Agaba, an eighth-grader at Farnsworth Aerospace Upper, will be recognized for his award on Saturday, Jan. 16, during the African Americans in Science event. Kira Vega, an eighth-grader at Highland Park Middle School, will receive her award on Saturday, Jan. 23, at the Amantes de la Ciencia! event. Both events will be held from 1-4 p.m. at the Science Museum of Minnesota.

Como Park Elementary School collects more than 1,100 pounds of food for Sharing Korner
In the two weeks leading up to winter break, students and staff at Como Park Elementary collected 1,112 pounds of food for Sharing Korner. On Dec. 20, students in Kelly Dudeck's fifth grade class sorted, counted and packed the donations for delivery to the food shelf. Kudos to the Como Park Elementary School community for donating two trucks’ worth of food to Sharing Korner.
