Four Seasons students take 1st, 2nd place in Colors of the Rainbow Ballroom Dance Competition
Fifth-graders at Four Seasons A+ Elementary School took first and second place in the first Colors of the Rainbow Ballroom Dance Competition on Dec. 13. The competition was the final event of the fall 2015 Dancing Classrooms program, which involved 11 other schools in the Saint Paul area.

SPPS AVID, Specialized Services staff present at national AVID conference
Staff from AVID and the Office of Specialized Services (OSS) presented on their partnership in SPPS to more than 150 learners during the 2015 AVID National Conference. In SPPS, nearly 800 Special Education students receive instruction in AVID strategies such as focused note-taking, time management and organization during their Skills for High School Readiness and Skills for College and Career Readiness classes. More than 150 students with IEPs are enrolled in AVID elective courses. AVID is being used as a catalyst to increase access and equity, and to promote a college-going culture among special education students in SPPS.

The “I Am SPPS” campaign shares photos and quotes from SPPS students, staff, families and supporters. The campaign can be found on Facebook, Twitter and at spps.org/iamspps.
