Colleen Fridlund speaks at Highland Park Library's grand reopening ceremony
Colleen Fridlund, a fifth grade teacher at Horace Mann Elementary School, gave a wonderful speech during a grand reopening ceremony of the Highland Library. Fridlund spoke about the partnership between the library and Horace Mann.

Fridlund also shared memories about the Rice Street library being a sanctuary for her growing up. She said it was a special treat to ride the bus downtown to the main library, where she participated in activities and browsed the children's library. As a teacher at Horace Mann, Fridlund said she wants to instill that same love of reading in her students.

Every month, fifth-graders will walk to the newly renovated library for presentations by the librarians on selected genres and to browse and check out selected books.
