Three SPPS elementary schools awarded Minnesota State Arts Board arts learning grant
Fifth grade students and educators at Saint Paul Music Academy, Jackson Elementary and Bruce Vento Elementary received a $30,600 Minnesota State Arts Board Arts Learning Grant for 2014-2015.

Students will explore peace and reconciliation through the arts, inspired by the 60th anniversary of the Saint Paul-Nagasaki Sister City relationship. The project includes participation in the 2015 EcoArts Fest; teachers will receive professional development related to the project’s focus.

Congratulations to SPMA music teacher Teresa Kelly and Carol Sirrine of ArtStart for collaborating and leading the project, which aims to expand student art experiences and honor diverse cultures and racial reconciliation.
