Three SPPS teachers received more than $1,000 worth of school supplies and donations from Office Max's annual "A Day Made Better" award program to recognize their commitment to education.

The "A Day Made Better" program is an annual award that goes to teachers across the nation who are nominated by local educators to recognize how teachers spend a lot of their personal funds to purchase classroom supplies for students. The "A Day Made Better" award combines private donations along with school supplies to the winning teacher.

The winning teachers are:

  • Thomas Cozzolino, Obama Elementary
  • Sarah Benedett, Cherokee Heights Elementary
  • Michelle Strecker, Highland Park Elementary
