Jim Rue receives Lifetime Achievement Award from Minnesota Association of Environmental Educators

Jim Rue, a Teacher on Special Assignment at Belwin Outdoor Science, was recently recognized with the Minnesota Association of Environmental Education's Lifetime Achievement Award for his unparalleled achievement working with urban special education students in outdoor education. Rue has personally led nearly 35,000 SPPS special education students who might not otherwise have had the opportunity to connect to and be inspired by the natural world.
We acted and we made a difference
More than 1,500 SPPS students made a positive contribution to the world last year through their participation in “We Act.” This year, we think we can double that.
Register for your school or classroom to participate in We Act today. Free the Children, the organization that houses the We Act movement, has resources and support to help you build a global and local service project with your students.
Stay tuned for more information about We Day. More information to come next week regarding in-person professional development opportunities and district incentives for participation in We Act. If you have questions, contact caritza.mariani@spps.org.
