Harding Students win the SPPS Culinary Competition
Harding Senior High School students Chinue Yang, Xia Xiong and Kaylyn Vang won the Saint Paul Public Schools Culinary Competition. Their recipe for Thai Peanut Chicken Lettuce Wraps, Cucumber Salad and Pineapple Crisp will eventually be featured on the SPPS lunch menu. The students now move on to compete against eight other teams in the Cooking Up Change competition in Washington D.C.

HPPA sends 16 students to Twin Cities Regional Science Fair
Hazel Park Preparatory Academy sent 16 students to the Twin Cities Regional Science Fair on Feb. 26. The seventh and eighth grade accelerated science students presented eight science fair projects ranging from purifying river water to gathering field data to determine the best place for a school bird feeder.

Among the honored were Jevon Jones and Jeremy Rivera, who won an East Side Science Club Alumni award for their engineering of a battery-powered hotdog cooker. Special thanks to Life Science teacher Carlottia Davis, Earth Science teacher Angela Phillips and Science Club coach John Weimholt, for mentoring and guiding students, as well as to Dick Streeper from 3M for his support and the 3M Science Club Grant.
