Highland Park High School students show support for Central
A group of Highland Park Senior High School students recently signed this banner and brought it to Central High School to show their support in the midst of difficult times.

Six SPPS Teams compete in FIRST Lego League State Championship
Six Saint Paul Public Schools teams competed in the FIRST Lego League State Championship on Feb. 20, at Washington Technology Magnet School.

SPPS teams that participated in the State tournament include:

  • The Cyborg Ponies from Crossroads Science Program
  • The Trash Talkers from Farnsworth Aerospace
  • The Galactic Legends from Groveland Park Elementary School
  • The Panda Professionals Strike Trash from Groveland Park Elementary School
  • The LEGO Huskies from Hamline Elementary
  • Keep Calm and LEGO On from Capitol Hill Gifted & Talented Magnet

More than 50 SPPS teams participated in FIRST Lego League this year thanks to a generous grant from 3M. Humboldt's team was supported by the Ecolab Foundation. High Tech Kids, the governing body of FIRST Lego League in Minnesota, provides volunteers for tournament support, judging and refereeing.

SPPS students, staff featured last week in ‘I Am SPPS’
