SPPS celebrates opening of East Side Learning Hub@ Harding
More than 150 SPPS staff and community members turned out for the grand opening of the East Side Learning Hub@ Harding. The new educational center next to Harding High School will offer expanded programming and learning space for the school, evening high school, adult basic education, community education and more for residents throughout the city. Following the ribbon cutting ceremony, community members toured the facility and were treated to entertainment by the Harding High School band.

Celebrate National Walk/Bike to School Day on October 9
Bike/walk events foster academic achievement, improve student health, raise environmental awareness and build connections among families, schools and the larger community. Encourage your students and colleagues to participate in Walk/Bike to School Day on October 9.

Staff who take the pledge to walk or bike to work on October 9 will be entered in a drawing to win a prize courtesy of HealthPartners. Twenty winners will be drawn. If you live too far from work, you can still participate by pledging to walk or bike sometime that day.
