Learn how to be more resilient and manage stress
Stress is a natural part of our lives, and something we can’t completely avoid. A 45-minute presentation by the Sand Creek Group will teach you how to be resilient and improve your mindset, which can help you manage stress in a healthy way. The presentation will be noon Wednesday, May 27, in conference room D at 360 Colborne St.

Register for Summer Wellness Programs by May 29
Make sure to stay active and engaged in the Wellness program this summer. Choose from two summer programs to participate in. These programs can be applied towards step two of your Wellness Initiative.

  • Summer Scramble: A healthy scavenger hunt to find new ways to be healthy.
  • Gear Up and Go: A cycling challenge to find new ways to stay active on your bike.

Complete online health assessment by May 29 for chance to win 3-month-gym membership
Completing your online health assessment through HealthPartners will help you understand your health better and save you healthcare costs. Complete your health assessment by May 29 to enter a drawing for a free three-month gym membership of your choice (up to $50 per month). All permanent SPPS employees, COBRA participants, early retirees and spouses covered on the health plan are eligible for the drawing. Three winners will be selected.

  1. Log into healthpartners.com/wellbeing using “SPPS” as the company name and your personal username and password. Click “Forgot Username” link to retrieve your login information or call HealthPartners customer service at 952-883-7800.
  2. Take your health assessment by May 29 to enter the drawing.

After completing a health assessment, the second step of the wellness initiative is to complete a well-being activity of your choice. Log onto healthpartners.com/wellbeing or visit employeewellness.spps.org to learn about program options that are specific to SPPS. The deadline to complete your well-being activity is Oct. 23.

Chair yoga classes continue at 360 Colborne
Learn some simple stretches to complete at your workstation at Chair Yoga classes, offered this summer at the District Office, 360 Colborne. You’ll also learn several stress-reduction techniques. Completing at least three classes will count toward your 2015 Wellness Initiative.

Classes will be noon to 12:45 p.m. at 360 Colborne in conference room F on the following Mondays: June 1, July 6 and Aug. 3. Register here to attend chair yoga classes.
