Employee wellness

Sheri Hastings, English teacher at Como Senior High School, shares why she chooses to live well in 2014.

“I am grateful for my life. I love my family, my job, and am going to have the wedding of my dreams to the love of my life at 42 years old. I have a lot of life to live and I want it to be filled with choices, not compromised by health complications. It is for these reasons and many more that three years ago I quit smoking, have begun getting regular checkups, got a family membership to the YMCA and have lost 35 pounds. I am a work in progress, but I am so grateful to have made it this far. I owe it to my 100-year-old self to be healthy now.”
