Setting goals
It’s a whole new school year and you may be looking ahead at what you want to accomplish with this fresh start. A new year often motivates people to make changes. Maybe you want to eat better, or be more active or work towards managing your stress. Whatever it is that you’re hoping to accomplish, you want to be SMART about setting your goals!

Make sure you set Specific, Measureable, Attainable, Realistic, Timely goals for yourself. Avoid setting large goals that feel overwhelming. Set yourself up for success by sticking with goals that feel realistic to you! Here's an example of a SMART goal to point you in the right direction:

  • General goal: “I want to lose weight”
  • SMART goal: “ I want to lose 10 pounds by January. I will work towards this goal by exercising five days per week for 30 minutes and eating five servings of fruits and vegetables daily.”
