Collaborate, share and store your documents more easily with upgrades to SPPS Apps!
Recent upgrades to SPPS Apps (Google Apps for SPPS) make it easier for you to collaborate, share and store your documents.

SPPS Apps is a collaboration tool powered by Google that stores documents in Google’s cloud. If you’re new to SPPS Apps, view tips on how to use it and visit to get started. All staff are encouraged to transfer their documents from other cloud storage services (such as Dropbox) to SPPS Apps.

Many staff are already using SPPS Apps through their web browsers, but now you can download the Google Drive app to your district-owned PC or Apple computer.* Computer labs will continue to use SPPS Apps through the web browser. Shared devices (such as iPad carts) can use the app, but please remember to logout after each use.

Google Sync is also available on your phone or mobile device.**

Access your documents on-the-go when you download the Google Drive app for Android (Google Drive for iPhone and iPad will be available to SPPS accounts shortly). App features:

  • Sync your documents without uploading and downloading
  • Drag-and-drop multiple files at once
  • Protect student data by using SPPS apps instead of a personal Gmail account
  • Learn more.

To get started, change your Active Directory password, then learn how to download the apps for your district-owned PC or Apple computer, and your phone or mobile device. Still need help? Put in a Service Desk ticket.

More features coming soon: Stay tuned next month to learn how to sync your Google Chrome browser and Chromebook computer so you have your bookmarks, browsing history and Google Docs with you on any computer.

*IT Services can protect private district and student data on district-owned computers, but not personal computers. That’s why downloading the Google Drive app to your personal computer is a violation of SPPS policies.

**To protect private district and student data when you download the apps to your personal phone, SPPS will gain the ability to locate, lock, and wipe your phone remotely.
