Gender Inclusion in Schools Series
Saint Paul Public Schools is partnering with Minneapolis Public Schools for a four-part series on Gender Inclusion in Schools. Deepen your understanding of how gender impacts all learners and how the Gender Inclusion Policy promotes safer learning environments for transgender and gender-variant students.

The events in this series feature documentaries, speakers and special guests including Jessica Herthel, the author of “I Am Jazz.”

Supporting Our LGBTQ+ Youth and Children: A Forum for Education and Discussion is April 30
Join Out for Equity for Supporting Our LGBTQ+ Youth and Children: A Forum for Education and Discussion, an LGBTQ+ Family Conference on Saturday, April 30 at Central High School.

Sessions will range from vocabulary to advocacy, from transition to adulthood, and advocating for your child in classrooms. If you have questions contact Mary Hoelscher at mary.hoelscher@spps.org or 651-592-9956.

Supporting Our LGBTQ+ Youth and Children: A Forum for Education and Discussion

  • When: 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., on Saturday, April 30
  • Cost: Free (suggested donation of $10 to $20)
  • Meal: Provided to advanced registrants
  • To register: Brown Paper Tickets

Childcare is available for potty-trained, independent children aged 2-8 years old.

Childcare registration must be made in advance to ensure appropriate ratios and care for your child. As soon as possible, email mary.hoelscher@spps.org or call 651-592-9956. Children who are not registered for childcare will not be accepted after April 27.

A meal will be provided to those who register in advance, and will include vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options.

This event is hosted by the Saint Paul Public Schools Gender and Sexual Diversity Parent Advisory Committee (GSDPAC). Saint Paul Public Schools, The Bridge for Youth, and Minneapolis Public Schools are co-sponsoring the event.

Free tickets to Minnesota Orchestra Young People’s Concert available for fifth grade students
Saint Paul Public Schools fifth-graders are eligible for free tickets and transportation to the 2016-17 Young People’s Concert at Orchestra Hall in downtown Minneapolis.

Next week is SPPS Wellness Week
Next week is the 2nd Annual SPPS Wellness Week. This district-wide initiative focuses on student and staff health and wellness.

Do you have a financial plan?
Whether you are just starting your career or getting close to retirement, it is important to have a financial plan. Developing a financial plan may seem daunting, but SPPS has an opportunity to help you get started.

A Financial Planning Basics presentation will be offered Thursday, May 5 from 4:30-6 p.m. in conference rooms E and F at the District Administrative Building, 360 Colborne St. The presentation will cover the basics of Financial Planning so you can start thinking about your own financial plan.

The presentation will be provided by SPPS partner Capital Street Financial, which offers 403(b) programs.

Calling all runners and walkers: Join the SPPS Twin Cities Marathon team
SPPS will once again have a team for the Twin Cities Marathon, 5K and 10K races. If you join the SPPS team you will receive the lowest 1st tier price for the race, have access to the heated corporate team tent on race day as well as get free snacks and T-shirts. Participating in a race will qualify as a well-being activity for your wellness initiative.
