Equity in the Classroom series begins in March at the Multicultural Resource Center
Are you looking for ways to integrate equity tools into your work with students? Join us for Compass 4 Kids, a three-part series that will engage, deepen and sustain conversations and learning around using the Compass with yourself, your students and your colleagues. School teams are encouraged to engage in this learning, but individuals are also welcome.

The Monday series will meet on March 7, March 14 and March 21. The Tuesday series will meet on April 12, April 19 and April 26.

All sessions will meet from 4:30-6:30 p.m. at the Multicultural Resource Center (MRC), located at Washington Technology Magnet School. Register on PDExpress under MRC. In-service credit available upon completion.

Thinking College Early Fair takes place Saturday, Feb. 27
Saint Paul Public Schools (SPPS) students and their families are invited to the 12th annual Thinking College Early Fair on Saturday, Feb. 27. The Fair will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Harding Senior High School, 1540 E. Sixth St.

The fair will feature breakout sessions providing information on admissions, financial aid and more. Representatives from local colleges will be present to answer questions. There will also be free childcare (ages 3+).

Consider joining a gym through the Frequent Fitness program
The Frequent Fitness program provides SPPS staff members with HealthPartners insurance a reimbursement of up to $20 for working out 12 or more times per month at a participating gym.

The Frequent Fitness program can also count as your 2016 Wellness Program. Work out at least 12 times a month for four months, between January and September at a participating gym to qualify.

Establishing a 1:1 iPad Environment
This course teaches staff the basics of using iPads and takes place during the school day. All SPPS licensed teaching staff are requested to attend. Teachers must request a sub and will receive recertification clock hours.

Course topics include: digital file sharing, classroom management, digital citizenship, the iPad Student Handbook and practical applications to teach students during the first weeks of using iPads in your classroom.

iPad Cafes
These monthly after-school sessions are geared toward the interests of participants. The Thursday, Jan. 7 session features Google Drive and Seesaw.
