From the Superintendent: Keeping Students at the Center While Counting Down to Summer

This Tuesday evening the Committee of the Board of Education will meet to discuss revisions to the district’s budget for next year. In the midst of finalizing our own SPPS budget we must not lose sight that the end of the school year can bring uncertainty and anxiety for many of our students and families.

Senior high school students from six SPPS high schools were recently recognized for completion of the Mentoring Excellence Program (MEP) along with the mentors who helped them get there. MEP provides college preparatory support and access to scholarships for students seeking post-secondary education. MEP students are encouraged to pursue a rigorous pre-college program while in high school.
