From the Superintendent: Family Engagement -- and our outreach to families -- is vital to student success

Every family wants what is best for their child and understands that engaging in their child’s education is vital. As a result of Parent Academy and the parent seminar series, each of our schools is developing a growing cohort of informed, involved parents.

Video: More than 1,000 SPPS students learning to speak Chinese

Chinese immersion and culture programs in six SPPS schools will benefit from a generous Confucius Classroom grant from the Chinese government. The Confucius Classroom program, in partnership with the University of Minnesota’s Confucius Institute, provides culture and language resources to enhance Chinese curriculum as well as offer cultural engagement opportunities for parents, teachers and students.
