Staff: Remind families how to access Nutrition Services menus
One of the most common questions SPPS Nutrition Services receives is: "Where do I find the menu?" You can access school menus by:

  • Using MySPPS Menus on the new MySPPS app
  • Clicking on the "Menu" tab in the upper right-hand corner of your school’s homepage
  • Clicking on the "Interactive Menu" link on the Nutrition Services homepage.

All of those ways lead you to the menus at You can download the school MySPPS Lunch menus app on your smartphone or tablet to keep the menu conveniently available. Also, you can still print the menus by accessing the menu page and clicking the "print menu" button in the upper righthand corner.

Staff: Free bicycles available for SPPS students in need, request bikes now
Free, recycled and refurbished bicycles are available for SPPS students in need through Free Bikes 4 Kidz and Allina Health. Please work with your principal, social workers and counselors to determine eligibility criteria, such as attendance, academics and behavior. Students who meet the criteria will receive the donated bikes.

Bicycles will be distributed on Saturday, Dec. 6. Students will need to travel to the FB4K warehouse at the Mall of America or possibly the Rondo Educational Complex to pick up their bikes. The bikes also will be available for schools to keep as a bicycle fleet, if needed.

Contact Carol Grady at with the number of bikes you are requesting or if you have any questions.

Teachers: Submit Individualized Growth and Development Plan
This fall, educators will complete their Teacher Development and Evaluation Individualized Growth and Development Plan in PDExpress. Each school in September told staff the scheduled submission dates for the initial goal, mid-year reflection and end-of-the-year reflection.

Below is an explanation of the process:

  • Goals will be submitted to the school administration team (principals, assistant principals and administrative interns) to review and be returned as "Not Approved" with comments. The form will remain active for mid-year reflections. It’s important for educators to review their plan and read the comments to determine if they need to make any updates or if they can move forward as planned.
  • Mid-year reflections will be submitted for review and returned as "Not Approved" with comments. The form will remain active for end-of-the-year reflections.
  • End-of-the-year reflections will be returned as "Approved.” Approval means that the goal was set and two reflections were submitted.

If you have questions about TD&E, contact Amy Steele at and submit comments to the TD&E Feedback page.

Principals: SAT team member must attend Refferal Process meeting
At least one SAT team member from each school, preferably the chairperson, must attend one of the SAT Referral Process meetings scheduled for Nov. 4-5.

The meeting will include a demonstration and instructions on how to use the electronic SAT referral form that has been developed by Campus. The electronic referral form will go live on Campus on Dec. 1, and the expectation is that it will replace all other referral forms previously used in all buildings across the district.

The November meetings will also include discussion on setting up building processes to effectively use the electronic referral form. Meeting times and locations are below and it is posted on PDExpress.

  • Wednesday, Nov. 4, from 7:30-8:30 a.m. or 9-10 a.m. in rooms J and K at 360 Colborne
  • Thursday, Nov. 5, from 1-2 p.m. or 2:30-3:30 p.m. in room A at 360 Colborne
